BV Construction installs residential tile with attention to the parts that affect the finished result before the first tile is set: substrate condition, surface flatness, layout, transitions, edge details and the requirements of the selected tile assembly.
Wet-area tile depends on the waterproofing and substrate assembly behind it. Shower walls, pans, niches, benches, tub surrounds and transitions are prepared with the appropriate waterproofing system for the project before the finished tile is installed.

Large-format tile makes surface preparation and layout especially important because variations in the wall or floor become more visible across larger pieces. Tile size, seam placement, mortar selection and coverage appropriate to the assembly are all planned so visible cuts land where they make sense and lippage is kept under control.
The condition and preparation of the substrate play a major role in the performance and appearance of a tile floor. We evaluate the existing floor, complete the flattening, underlayment or uncoupling preparation the project calls for, and lay out the field around doorways, visible areas and transitions to adjacent flooring.

Backsplash tile is planned around countertops, upper cabinets, outlets and switches, windows and the range or hood area, so the pattern stays aligned and grout and edge details read cleanly across the run.

Layout decisions are made before installation so prominent cuts, grout lines and pattern transitions are intentional rather than improvised as the tile goes up. Centerlines, doorways, niches, windows, cabinets, plumbing penetrations, exposed ends and corners are all considered in the plan.
Grout and flexible sealant are completed as part of the new tile installation, including appropriate treatment at corners and transitions. Joints are kept consistent, grout is cleaned as the work progresses, and changes of plane receive flexible sealant rather than grout.
Tile installation depends on the surface beneath it. Before installing new tile, we evaluate the substrate and complete the preparation required for the selected tile assembly — repairing damaged substrate, addressing flatness, and using backer board, membranes or suitable underlayment where the assembly calls for it. Removal of existing flooring or tile is handled when it is part of the new installation. The goal is to help provide an appropriate surface for the tile installation.
